Meditation is one of the best exercises for our body that keeps us fit and healthy. Meditation is not only helpful for achieving good physical health, but also for improving mental health in people. It relaxes your mind and keeps you calm. But have you ever heard about meditation for your heart?
As researchers show, people who meditate regularly have a lower level of cholesterol in the blood, do not suffer from high blood pressure and have fewer chances to have a stroke, diabetes mellitus, and various heart diseases. Meditation is also very beneficial for heart rate variability (HRV) in people. HRV measures the amount of time between every heartbeat, and just 5-10 minutes of meditation per day are able to improve it noticeably.

- Choose and turn on relaxing music of your choice (instead of music, you may choose the sound of white noise or water);
- Sit still with your eyes closed;
- Control your breathing – breath slowly;
- Try to relax your muscles and clear your mind, control your thoughts;
- Inhale and exhale deeply and slowly;
- Set a timer in order to not lose track of time;
- Repeat this procedure daily in order to create a habit.
